JAG Students Meet with Representative Heath

Representative Richard Heath met with the Graves County Jobs for America's Graduates (JAG) students via Zoom on Friday, January 29.  Rep Heath discussed his role as a citizen legislature and shared how his role in government is changing due to the COVID pandemic and other factors.  He also shared, as a local business owner (Heath Building), qualities that he seeks in an employee and what makes students stand out as a candidate for employment with his company.  

JAG students followed his presentation with a showcase of JAG activities and competencies.  JAG President Livvie Mann shared the many local events including the Workforce Wednesday and Bus to Business programs, community service plans, and workplace readiness lessons.  JAG Vice President Landon Diel shared his personal growth and beliefs on the JAG program and how it has impacted his life positively.  

The meeting concluded with JAG CEO Larry Caruso and Kentucky Chamber of Commerce representative Travis Burton describing the JAG national program and promoting the many successes of the program including the graduation rate and post-secondary employment rates of JAG graduates.
