GCHS art teacher Anthony Woodruff has been named Kentucky Art Education Association’s Secondary Art Educator of the Year. Mr. Woodruff was named by the association at their annual convention.
“It’s good to be recognized in a crazy year,” he said. Woodruff says he feels excited and happy about being honored in this way.
Woodruff is an experienced educator, having taught in Lexington for five years. He also was a museum educator for two years; this is his third year at GCHS.
Mr. Woodruff says his favorite part of this job is helping students reach their own personal goals with regards to art. “I really enjoy art 3 and 4 where the students come up with ideas for what to create and I just help,” he stated.
Congratulations to Mr. Woodruff on this prestigious honor!
