Graves County High School places three of its students highly at recent Murray State University Math Day 2018
Three Graves County High School students were among those recognized recently at Murray State University’s Math Day 2018. Carson Sims placed second overall. Matt Whitaker placed fifth overall. Taylor Goodwin was the school winner on the lower level exam. Altogether, some 21 Graves High students competed at the second annual event. They are pictured here. Competition included an individual exam and a team competition featuring hands-on math challenges. Besides the competition, the event included a panel discussion noting specific careers students earning math degrees successfully pursue. Teachers Eric Blalock and Jarrod McMillin accompanied the students for the event.
