3rd Grade STEM
Wingo Elementary third grade students have been learning about teamwork during science class. According to teacher Nakia Brown, students were instructed to work together while using marshmallows and dry spaghetti to build a tower. The goal was to see which team could build the tallest tower. Students learned that sometimes things don't always go as planned. The class discussed how scientists learn to think things through, redesign, and try again when something doesn't work. By integrating this STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) activity, the students had a fun, yet challenging start to the school year.
