Farmington Elementary School students enjoy wrangling, roping at Graves High’s old western horse ranch, barn

Farmington Elementary second-grader Nate West lived up to his name, as the “western” wrangler demonstrated roping skills, casting a lasso high into the air and landing it with accuracy around the head of the “steer” in front of him. Guiding the process was Graves County High School agriculture student Nate Nesler. The action took place recently at the Graves High equine facility, located just north of the district’ central office on Ky. Highway 121. With a little imagination, the place resembled an old western horse ranch. Agriculture teacher Richard Horn praised the interaction between the two Nates on Cowboy Days, saying, “This is what it’s all about – an older kid sharing future possibilities with a younger kid!”
