Graves County High School Jobs for America’s Graduates students recently collected donations and contributed their own personal donations for a project. Their purpose was to ensure that each resident of Mills Nursing and Rehabilitation Center receives a gift this Christmas. Students visited with residents and wished each a Happy Holiday season.
"This was a good trip,” said JAG chapter president Justin Lemay, who organized the event. “I am glad that we did this for some really nice people."
The JAG program assists students in locating and developing careers following graduation. Community service is one of the required components of the national JAG model.
JAG chapter advisor Stephanie Rickman hopes to make a large event, such as this, an annual undertaking. "It is always good to see our students excel outside of the classroom walls,” she said. “I always am impressed with their empathy and soft hearts at an event like this."
